When Do You Benefit From Seeing an Osteopath?

Osteopathy is a health care modality specialising in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction and injury involving soft tissue, joints, muscles, discs and nerves. When you have a musculoskeletal related injury or develop pain that is not improving after a few days, consulting an Osteopath is likely to be most beneficial.

What happens when you get treatment?

Osteopaths use a variety of safe hands-on evidence-based techniques similar to those used by Physiotherapists and Chiropractors. Our Osteopath strives to understand the cause of your symptoms, retrain altered movement patterns, and prevent recurrence of your symptoms.

Your initial consultation is an in-depth consultation and considers your overall health history, testing the impact and severity of your injury and treating it appropriately. Your ongoing treatment program will take into account the nature of your condition, your ability to assist in your recovery and how you respond to initial treatment.

Post Consultation

At Tyack Health the Practitioners are here to assist in your recovery.  We believe that your care continues after your appointment and we will continue to nurture you back towards full health.  Follow-up appointments are sometimes recommended, so that the job isn’t half-done!

We invite all patients to phone and speak with your Practitioner concerning exacerbation of pain, difficulty with exercises and any other treatment-related questions you may have.  Even though we always expect the best possible outcomes, misconceptions or reactions to treatment are possible.  Therefore it is important for us to know if you have any problems or difficulties so we can serve you more appropriately in the future.  If the Practitioner is unable to attend your call, he/she will contact you as soon as possible.

Note: We also love to hear from you when things are going great!
